    Guibo Replacement

Need to replace the guibo on my 91 318is, it does not have the dampener around it. From all the procedures I have read I will need to remove the driveshaft, it looks to me that I could just unbolt the guibo and slide it out or if necessary unbolt the diff mount to gain a little more movement. Could someone who has done this educate me as I must be missing something.

    Thanks,

    Seth

Can't hurt to try as long as you don't force/break anything. Sometimes work-arounds present themselves when you're under the car.

I loosened the CSB and tranny mounts on my i and wiggled it out last week. YMMV

The drive shaft continues through the guibo like and inch so you cant just unbolt it and drop it out. I thought I could do that too. Ended up dropping the csb and that allowed me to pull the drive shaft back a little bit and it all worked out. Was easier then I expected. Hardest part is to keep taking off the ebrake and rotated the wheels to tighten all the bolts.
