Quaife into worn out 3.25 box?

I have a 3.25 LSD box that at some point stopped being LSD. When it wore out, it simply started working as an open diff. The fluid that came out at my last change still looked fine with no metal or anything.

My question is simple- in this instance, would installing a quaife carrier work?

Also, would I need any special tools, and for that matter how intelligent do I need to be to complete such a task?

Thanks in advance guys (and apparently gals, there are some around here I heard )

I bet you could be all right by plopping the Quaife into your 3.25 and measuring nothing.

This is a crapshoot, though, and you'd be operating under the assumption that the side-to-side clearances are identical between the pumpkins. This is something that is set using the shim stacks behind the side plates of the diff. I bet the fore-aft would be fine.

Your best bet is to probably replace the clutch discs in your existing 3.25 for around $110, flipping the dog ear discs, and throwing it back into your diff.
