    fiff bushing help

*edit* - sorry for the fail title/typo.

I got a welded 4.10 diff today from a friend, but he removed his old bushing for some reason. I figured I would be able to swap covers and call it good, but now that the diff is out it is obvious that that is not possible - # of bolts is different :(

Wish had taken a better look before I took it out. Its a 3.73 open.

Are these bushings serviceable? Meaning, can I press a new one in? Where would I find one?

Also, while i'm here... I've got a weird ticking/rattle sound that varies with speed but is only really audible when coasting. If i get on the gas it goes away or gets much quieter. Any ideas? I'm a RWD newb

A new bushing can be pressed in.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I wouldn't hammer the bushing back in. You can crack the diff cover pretty easily, as it's cast aluminum.

You can use a bolt and some steel plate to press the bushing back in if you're in a pinch.

What did you guys use to get the old bushing out? Some type of puller?

Anyone bought a new bushing - if so where?

            thanks for the help!
