So my question is if I can swap the getrag 265 from a 82 528e into my auto 85 325e and if so what all will I need and what problems I might have, driveshaft? Etc. thx

if im not mistaken, that transmission should bolt up no problems to your car. i believe it has the removable bell housing too.
that transmission should have the large guibo, so you would either have to put a g260 output flange and get a 325i drive shaft, or get a large guibo drive shaft.
You need flywheel, clutch kit, shifter assembly (not sure if the one from the e28 would work) and if not already, pedal assembly.
Not sure if the bell housing have sensor holes but i believe so.
I think someone on this board did this transmission swap for more strength in one of m20 their builds.?
