I searched but couldnt find what i was looking for, does the rod joint on the shift linkage wear out? Also what is the list of stuff needed to rebuild the shift linkage? When I had my last e30 I had the list but now cant find it. Thanks.

early or late shifter?
theres shitloads of parts. A non shifter part you should get is a new selector shaft seal.
on my 260,000kms e30 (all original shifter parts) a few washers had disintegrated, bottom shifter cup destroyed and the selector rod joint totalled as well as console supports destoyed.
if u got money just get all the parts on the shifter page.
to fix it you will need to pull tailshaft.RIP 84 323i coupe 5spd w/ 14psi
