Z4 or z3 shifter???

I have now had the z3 installed for about a week or maybe 2, but it is SOOO awesome. The throw is what i would call perfect, with new bushings it is all tight and feels amazing. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend this!.... Now if i could only get my output shaft seal to stop leaking!

Z3M or UUC is the best. Tall, but long under the fulcrum for a short throw.

Replace all the bushings too

I have the Z3m in my car, but I had to do some console modification due to rubbing on the driveshaft. Standard Z3 is a tad taller and longer, but perfect imo. The height is perfect, the throw is short, and it's nice and notchy. I think the stock shifter sits much too high, but the z4 knobs sit way too low.

The 2.5 isn't supposed to be notchy. You sure you don't have the 3.0?

My tranny is going to shits that's why. But nonetheless the z4 2.5 feels great and it's pretty short.

BTW don't go with the website I recommended (koperformance). Had trouble trying to place an order, kept on saying it declined my card and I check my bank account and it was still trying to process. Go with blunttech, I did. Great guy, great prices, great service

mine is just the standard not the m, the thing that kept me from getting the shortest throw possible is my transmission is already really notchy! And i didn't want to have to do and modification to the selector rod or the lever itself, overall im still very happy.

my diff gave last week so Im changing it to an LSD on tuesday, so the shifter is yet again sent back to next week or the one after

hate it when that shit happens... when you get it done it will feel like a new car. let me know how you like the LSD, what ratio are you putting in? i need this badly

Im going with 4.10 same as stock, would like to have a not as short first gear but I have the m42 and I didn't want it any slower. so :P, I'll tell you if it feels any different when I get it done!

Both Z4s are terrible for e30s. Unless you have an aftermarket seat and sit very low. You have to reach down into the boot to grab it.

Z3M is just as short of a throw, but has a longer lever above the fulcrum.

I have a UUC one now. If you feel like splurging, it's the best.
