How to tackle this project? shifter/diff/CSB/guibo

I am planning on changing out my shifter bushings, guibo, CSB, and diff. What's the best order to do these in?

Also while I'm in there is there anything else I should replace?

Drop the exhaust, then the drive shaft. Then rebuild the shifter. Follow that with guibo & CSB.

Know that a failure of the rubber mount of the CSB is almost always the result of binding u-joints in the drive shaft. You can replace the CSB, but until the drive shaft is replaced the new CSB will have a short life and you may still experience vibration from the drive shaft.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Yea I'm planning on taking a look at the u joints while I'm in there and if they are bad, replacing the drive shaft. As it is right now they make the occasional clunk when shifting/ pushing in the clutch, so I'm hoping I won't have to replace the drive shaft.

SO is it impossible to do the U-joints? I mean these driveshafts shouldnt just be tossed out..

The drive shaft can be rebuilt, but not in the field, The bearings are staked or welded in and machining is required to change them. Which in turn requires that the drive shaft be rebalanced after the u-joints are changed.

you might be able to use a e36 driveshaft as well, depending on your particular E30.

some of the earlier G260 trans has a 110mm guibo size, and can be used plug and play with a ZFSG320 (e36m3 5mt) with center bearing flipped -
if you used a e36 shaft it would have to be from 328/m3, and also have 4 bolt differential flange BUT then it would have much newer u-joints.

I have a 87 that I am pondering the same thing to; Shifter sponge replacement and potential driveshaft center bearing/guibo. the shifter/carrier/rear bush can be completely re-done without removing anything, but the sponge that the shift selector connects to cannot be changed with out removing the guibo for access to the pin..
