325iX Auto transmission won't go into drive.

only reverse. Is my tranny toast? 101K original miles.

I have to double check the fluid levels, but it may be low. Would that be a possible cause, or something more complex. TIA.

I have the same problem with my 87 325e. It has something to do with the seals on the input shaft. The seals go bad, break, leak and you lose everything except reverse. Will require removal of the trans and possibly having to replace the first gear clutch pack. Check out this link for more info: http://www.e32-schrauber.de/bmw/date...er_Winfred.pdf
