    Getrag 260 seals

Well just did a transmission swap and I put new seals in: input, output, and selector. And the damn thing leaks trans fluid. I followed the directions in the bentley manual an don't get it. What's re proper way of putting seals in? Or could there be any other reason why it leaking?

Selector shaft seal is likely. You can put a second seal in after the first one. It just taps in. I used a deep-well socket for mine, lubricating the seal with some fresh fluid before installation.

Did you lube the seals before you inserted them? If not, they may bind, and WILL leak.

Check the condition of the output flange as well. It should be smooth, not grooved where the seal is.

well it was a bolt from a early trans. I assume this is why my old trans was leaking. the owner before me didn't plug it. I put a bolt in and that plugged it up Problem solved

There's a bolt hole on the earlier transmissions for the shift carrier, and my car has a later shift setup
