Noobie in need of help

I just bought a '93 325i Convertible (E30) and want to replace the shifter to a shorter throw shifter and new knob. I have driven an E30 recently that had the Z4 2.5 Shifter installed and it was very very nice...

My question is do I need to bend this kit for it to work properly in this car and is it something I can do at home? I would rather not buy something that needs bending so please advise.......

This was JUST covered somewhere on here and if you check the FAQ forum you will find a very large thread explaining the different short throw shifters, how the work, and reviews on each one. To sum it all up for you though,a s long as your car does not have the harmonic balancer on the driveshaft, the Z4 2.5 if a direct swap in. I have it myself and I love it.
