wtf 3rd gear!

3rd gear is startin to grind and pop out frequently, it's gradually getting worse everyday.
I already ruled out shifter bushings because it's only this gear that's being difficult while the rest of the gearbox is nice and tight :giggle:
soooo it may be the synchros finally going out?
can anyone chime in on this

Yeah it probably alittle of that going on.

One of my e30s had a problem like yours and filling with redline fixed it completely.
It didn't help that the oil was never changed, or at least looked that way (black).

It sounds to me like the shifter fork or syncros on third gear are worn out. Time for a replacement or a transmission rebuild.

My 3rd gear issue is staying stetti and it's becoming a PITA..
I'm starting to think it's time for a rebuild or a new 260..
do you guys know what would be cheaper and less of a hassle?
