Having issues with the autotragic in my cabrio. about 50% of the time, it refuses to drop into gear upon selecting either reverse or drive without hassle. It will eventually drop into gear, so the pump is OK (or should be).
What can cause this to be so erratic in going into gear or not?
I have replaced the kickdown cable recently to seal a major leak, the transmission is now tight, and not low on fluid
Prior owner DID have the pump replaced due to shearing off the pump ears. This problem started with the installation of the new pump (done at a local reputable shop)
Once the trans finally drops into gear, it works just fine, no appreciable slippage, upshift/downshift fine. will work just peachy until the engine is shut off, and it sits a few hours
Just for the record, this is primarily the wifes car, and as such she demands an automatic, so no 5 speed swap reccomendations.
