I dunno if any of you guys heard of my last problem. Oil cooler leaked, got water inside from the radatior and fucked my whole gearbox up. Anyways I just had the box replaced with a new second hand one and the oil cooler repaired, but now the car struggles to shift out of first when its cold. Its silly, I have to ride around the block twice at 2000rpm before I can take it into traffic. I phoned the dude that installed and he spoke of some rusty sensor bullshit and they need to pull the back of the box off and remove the drive shaft to work on it. Cant understand why this wasnt donw when the car was in pieces. Anyways, this happened to anyone else before? Any insight for me?

Is the TV cable attatched to the throttle body? If your car has cruise control there should be 3 cables on your throttle body, without cruse you should have 2.Adam Fogg- '88 M3

Ok, then you should have 2 cables hooked up to the throttle. One from the gas pedal, and one that goes down to the tranny. If the one for the tranny is unhooked it won't shift.Originally posted by calypsoWhat? No cruise control on my mofoAdam Fogg- '88 M3

Next step is to check the fluid level. Warm the car up and check the level while its running. If it's full you have an internal fault, either with the mechanical limiter inside, or in the valve body.Originally posted by calypsoIt was a little loose so i secured it. I mean the car does shift, but only after driving about 500m or so.Adam Fogg- '88 M3

The transmission cable hooked up to the throttle is the kickdown cable. The transmission will up shift no problem, but it will never downshift automatically.Originally posted by AdamF 88iSOk, then you should have 2 cables hooked up to the throttle. Not always. TV (throttle valve) and Kickdown cables refer to the same thing.Originally posted by AxxeThe transmission cable hooked up to the throttle is the kickdown cable.
