    Transmission stuck in 3rd gear

Was driving last night and shifted to 3rd. Went for 4th and the shifter wouldn't move for nothing. Pulled into a parking lot and tried to yank on the shifter to free it up and broke the shifting tube in the process.

What could be my problem? Shift linkage, seized tranny etc?

Sounds like the transmission's selector rod is jammed.

Try hitting it in with a mallet.

Well, I tried that. It's not that. Tranny's seized :(

If anyone local to the PNW has a late model G260 that they'd sell me, please let me know ASAP!

At least its third. You can drive pretty much anywhere in third.

So the internal selector rod didn't move when you smacked it with a hammer?

If you can still drive in third, then the tranny isn't seized. Sounds like the internal selector rod is jammed.
