    325i dual mass flywheel?

we swapped an 89 longblock with single mass clutch and flywheel attached into my friend's popped 87 325i and the starter spins free. we checked out his old flywheel and it doesn't look like the other 'i' flywheels i've seen. i was under the impression that all b25's had single mass flywheels, but the starter isn't catching anything and this old flywheel seems to be heavy as shit and thick. we're going to pick up a late model starter, but just wanted to confirm whether or not 87's came with a dual mass or not? iirc, the trans looked like it had late model linkages and a balancer on the driveshaft.

All M20B25 engine have the lighter single mass flywheel. In this case I'd suspect that someone has intalled the wrong flywheel.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

We're going to try another starter then, because this one just spins.

Sounds like a bad starter to me.

It wasn't bad when the car was running before...

Everything has to go bad sometime. ;)

I've had a starter not work after only being off half a day during a clutch job.
