Best TOB to use with this setup?

alright i have a gr260 with an E36 euro M3 flywheel and clutch setup should i use the stock TOB with this or get a different one? im using the stock one no but its getting ready to take a shit on me, so when i replace the tranny im gonna replace the TOB as well.

a brand new stock TOB. genuine PARTS ONLY. EURO spec is actually heavier than USA spec for that flywheel. (type 240, dual mass).

euro spec s50;s get one closer to 30 lbs (a e34 item basically)
USA S52 got a 22# lb fly, usa S50 got a heavier one iirc - have not weighted it.

Chunk the 260, get my ZF, and use M5 clutch ,done.

and as for a stock TOB which one? use the E30 one or the E36 M3 one? lol


and as for the ZF if i upgrade trans im getting the GR420

No.

Other way around, the USA only s52part is the lightest oem dual mass at 22#. euro is heavier, people selling the euro item like to lie about it.

Euro spec itb car has a heavier spec'ed flywheel from the factory.

USA got light spec weight flywheel to allow the much weaker spec engine less rotating mass. For many realistic purposes the USA s52 is just as fast around town because of the mechanical settings.


There Was a debate on this on Bfc as people like to pretend s50 euro is super special goods.

I went to the post office to test out the scale to see who was actually correct.

Put it on bathroom scale and weigh it!!! The specs for USA e36m s52 flywheel is 22#. the euro s50b30/s50b32 part will NOT BE= 18#.


For tob, have you x referenced the pn's? I know both physically look alike and both fit both zf and g260 trans. Same height etc

Just drove the setup in question:

M20+G260+g260 TOB+ S50 usa clutch+dual mass flywheel. ++ 24v s50 starter

works perfect. FYI the S50/52 pp is stiffer pressure than the m20 original and any e34 normal unit- you can work out your leg for easier effort, or change MC / slave to e34 M5 master and M30 e34 slave

are all 24v starters the same? I want to just get my car on the road.. i want to have engine in this week but couldn't decide going wit the 240 instead of 260. if this set up works great i might just run it. my s52 clutch has 66k on it and if it works fine wit g260 all i need is the starter and custom make my trans bracket..

M20+g260+s50 clutch set car I drove yesterday was running a 24V M50 small size starter. just bolted in, worked like stock. Im pretty sure all 24v starters are the same - even works on S54 pnp.

M50's cannot take M20 starters as they are larger, so hybrid needs to be built from the guts.
