    s52+G260

Whats the best clutch set up for the s52+g260. I was gonna run my stock setup M20 clutch,pp,fw,tob. I cant find anyone in San Jose that wants to shave the back of my M20 fw. I've also searched and didn't find what and how much to shave off my M50 oil pan, the rear seems idenical to my s52 oil pan. So i'm starting to think if the stock s52 clutch set up works fine in the g260, this might be a better route as far as not having to shave stuff.. Also if using the stock s52 clutch set up, can i use the M20 TOB or do I need the s52 TOB? Thanks to everyone in advance.

So you want to run a overly heavy dual mass flywheel setup? I wouldn't. The M20 flywheel and clutch work well with the 24v engines. No need to shave the flywheel, you can shave the pan as you mentioned.

I have heard that sometimes flywheel shaving is unnecessary--it is hit or miss. Still, I would have it done even if for no reason beyond performance. I find it hard to believe that you can't find anyone to shave it down, that is pretty standard machine shop work.

Stock S52/s50 dual mass is GOOD SH*T. thats why!!!

use g260 TOB and clutch fork etc- just substitue the entire dual mass and clutch set. Pedal effort will be stiffer as this is a M clutch, but one can change Master cylinder to E34M5 and slave to M30 e34 525i unit if left leg feels too weak to the task. I had no problems driving this in traffic with Original e30 master, slave.

I just wanganstyle'd this setup in Asia yesterday: M20b25+g260+s50 dual mass and clutch. Mountain/Fwy attack was great. Rev's quick too, I don't understand why people always bash the dual mass setup.

M3 OEM clutch is good for 400rwhp, very inexpensive to replace and parts always in stock dual mass takes the abuse and your transmission is happier

why bother spending on a spec or south bend aftermarket 228mm clutch and shaving the M20 fly when the S50/52 already has a great unit attached?

Dual mass clutch set compelte weight is not that bad - the pressure plate is lighter than the single mass pressure plate- its much thinner.

If shaving is needed, there is a good local place in the east bay that can shave/lighten/balance M20 fly to perfection. Price is not cheap but not terrible- quality work costs $$$.

I diffidently agree wit you on this. I ended up putting the S52 Fly/clutch in it. To be honest picking up the M20 and duel from the s52, there was not much of a weight difference.
