Is OEM Sachs clutch fine for a track rat?

my car will see no daily driving and only club weekend every 2-3 months, autocross maybe every other month.. -- car will be lightened, chipped, stock motor i/h/e--- i keep hearing that a stock Sachs is beefy enuff for 250 ft/lbs.. there probably will not be many drop clutch starts (ie. drag race style) should i be ok ? or do in need some kinda special brew kevlar or six puck? hell, clutch masters quoted me $721 for a fx 400 road race clutch kit, i nearly cried .. help !!
