diff from e36 fit an e30?

Have an individual with a 3.73 lsd which came off a 318ti, willing to trade evenly for a 2.93 lsd we have off an e30 325e. This will be going on an '89 325i we are prepping for Chump Car. Don't know much about the e36 diffs, but it is my understanding that the 4cy cars, at least the e30, used a small case diff and will not bolt up to a 6cyl car. Did the 318ti come with a 3.73 lsd, and if so, is it the same as a 3.73 lsd off a e30 325is? What questions should we ask? Thanks a ton for any info you can provide!

The 318ti differential will interchange with the E30. Standard E36 diffs will not though.

The 318ti has a small case diff if I remember correctly so it's really not idea for a 6 cylinder E30.
