What is this ? And what does it do ? It came off the side of a ZF320

Looks like a Magnetic drain plug

Actually, it looks like one of the pivot pins for the shift forks.

Thanks guys, I dropped the tranny today and installed it, i still don't know why would someone take it off in the first place !
