    Flywheel choices for 5spd conversion

I'm currently trying to choose between the JB and Turner Motorsport flywheel. Which one would you rather have (even if it isn't one of those 2)? The cost is not an issue.

I have a JB 7.5lbs M20 flywheel, and it is fucking badass. Pretty damn loud though, but for how easily the motor revs, I don't care at all. Expensive flywheels though, good thing price isn't a concern.

Is 7.5 on special request of some sort? I see 8.0 on the website. What kind of noise does the flywheel make? Is it only at idle, or throughout the RPMs? Thanks!

i have a IE 10lber. They take a stock flywheel, and machine it down. Its a bit on the cheaper side, but it takes a while. It likes to chatter a bit, but not that bad. I think some of it does have to do with my crankshaft end play, but yea. Look at IEs flywheels.

        Just somethin to think about.

EDIT: Looks like all IE sells now are the aluminum ones. Ohwell. You should beable to find a machine shop to lighten it for a lot less than an aluminum.

The flywheel has been in the car for almost 2 years now, so maybe its an older model, or I'm mistaken and it's an 8lbs, but I'm pretty sure its 7.5. The noise is real loud chatter, and only at idle (because engine noise and exhaust cancel it out at any other rpm).

Does anyone have any words about the TMS unit?

              From IE's Site:

"Aluminum Flywheel for 325i 6 cyl. Billet aluminum made in the USA by JB Racing. These have a replaceable heat treated steel friction surface and OEM ring gear. They are designed to use the factory type pressure plate for easy installation. Please specify model and year."

So then I goto TMS' site, and find out that they ALSO sell the JB racing wheel.

TMS is $25 cheaper than JB racing, so I think i'm ordering from them.

              thanks all!

Which ever one you get make sure you MEASURE the thickness. There was a huge mixup when I got one 1 1/2 ago. They put an M3 Alu flywheel and labeled/boxed it wrong. My car wouldnt disengage thinking I got a bad new clutch set I ordered another.Same thing.Flywheel was same diameter and caught the starter fine.....was just 1/4 too thick.
