.. I need some advice in what tranny to use .. I have an E30 M3 with a S38B38 swapped in it and is currently running the M3's stock diff and tranny (265/5).
Everything works great but I feel that the M3 tranny's short gear ratio is starting to .. "annoy" me. So I took the S38 out of a M5 myself and have its tranny laying around (280/5).
SO what I need advice for is whether to use the 265 or 280, I have a hard time deciding 'cause I think the 265 is great and love the dog-leg pattern, but like I said I think it would be nice to be able to "ride out" the gears a little bit ... ie not having to shift every second when doing some very legal scientific acceleration tests ...
.. and "normal" driving to .
It would be great if someone on here have actual experience with both transmissions having had them in the same car and whether it's worth swapping ..
I don't feel like swapping trannys only to be dissapointed and the next day swap back .. so I figured best to ask some advice first !!
