I think BavAuto sent me the wrong selector rod...

Hey guys, I ordered the shifter rebuild kit from bav auto (109.99). I had selected my car and then selected the kit after searching.

However, it looks a bit short from my memory. I havent looked at the underside of my car, but my main concern was my broken shifter arm. I do remember seeing the selector rod, but I thought it was nearly double the size.

Anyways, i took a pic of it next to a standard 11x8 sizeable magazine. Please let me know if this is the right part, before I make all sorts of arrangements to borrow the garage at work and not be able to do the job.

    Thanks!

What is your engine/trans? I had the same thing happen, it's about 2 inches shorter than my original rod (early 318i with m10). Bought it so long ago though, doubt I can return/exchange it

      EDIT:

If wiki is right, then my m20b25 has the getrag 260.. I do have the aluminum shifter arm.

if you look at the selector rod in that picture, it is very apparent that this one is way too short.

It's not too short, that's the right part. The M20 cars use the shortest one, all of the others are longer.
