Clutch pivot pin

Whats the importance of this? when i changed my clutch it looked like mine broke at the base, since its plastic I kind of glued it back into place and I hope its holding. however my TB is getting bad so while im in there im going to change it. How do you guys take it out?

Just tap out the pin from the back side. It is just a friction fit into the bellhousing.
