Are the nuts that hold the driveshaft to the diff the same locknuts as used around the guibo/output flange of the transmission? Couldn't find a P# on Realoem. Thanks

Contrary to popular belief there is no issue with re-using them.Comment

I have have also reused them at times although it is not ideal and I recommend replacing them. I think the locknuts to the diff are smaller than the Guibo ones. Make sure if you replace any you replace them with the same grade. If you reuse an all metal BMW locknut it may hold fine but you could also clean all threads real well and use blue loctite to be safe. I don't like to re-use nylon style locknuts.
Once I used a short piece of about 20lb test nylon fishing line and a regular nut to create my own locknut when I had no loctite and lost the original.Last edited by Bearmw; 03-10-2012, 06:22 AM.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. -Mark TwainComment

with a small diameter guibo, they are the same (10mm), Large diameter guibo bolts are bigger (12mm vs 10mm).
I dont know why BMW chose to use the large guibo with the Eta, the overwhelming power of the engine shouldnt be an issue....:DComment
