Clutch Engagement

im looking at this E36 that its a possibility that i may purchase. I test drove it yesterday and i noticed that the clutch doesnt engage until the very end of pedal travel. it ruins the driving feel. it wouldnt keep me from purchasing the car but can anyone tell me what i have to do to change that?

its verboten to speak of actually purchasing an e36 for anything other than dismantling here on r3v, you know that.
