    Clutch Noise, help please

I changed my tranny fluid and bled my clutch on saturday (I replaced the brake fluid a few weeks ago but didn't bleed the clutch). My clutch was making some noise before this (sounding like a light rubbing noise when the clutch was pressed in, but the clutch was fully disengaged and I can change gears fine) but now it makes a horrible squealing noise when I push in the clutch and a quieter sqealing when off the clutch pedal.

It sounds like my throw-out bearing, but it didn't used to do this and my idle drops when I press in the clutch, like a load is put on the engine. The squealing sounds almost like a power steering pump, it's not rpm dependent. I haven't had time to sit down and find out where the sound is coming from but if anyone else has experienced this, please let me know how to resolve it. My clutch holds fine, I don't want to take it apart just for a noisy throw out bearing.

    thanks.

Sounds like the throwout bearing is seized up, or close to it. When you push the clutch in, the engine has to work harder to spin the bearing, hence the idle drop.

There is really no way to fix it besides replacement, usually the clutch is close to worn out anyway.

thanks for the response, I think you're right on. I ordered new parts from BMA today. I'll replace the whole thing plus tranny seals and such.

      Thanks <beer for you>
