Hey all!
Long story short.. was ordinarily driving at 60 or so KM/H. 1989 325iS, Automatic, 150,000km.
Gear selector was sitting in D, wasn't giving it any abuse. Suddenly, it's like the gear slipped out of gear, and never got into it again. All I did was rev when I touched the throttle, and it would not engage with the gear.
Only reverse works. I managed to limp it home. You know with automatic cars how when you have it in D, it will go ever so slowly, sitting at 5-10km/h and 500-1000RPM.
I've tried the car on and off, everything.
Is the gearbox kaput or what?
I was planning on putting a 5speed in it anyway but the timing isn't very good.
Thanks for your time,
Nick
