The official ZF 4hp22 (automatic) thread

Since pickin one of these up i have discovered very little info on these. The general consensus is to swap it for a manual; but there are some of us (GASP!) that actually WANT an automatic.

I wanted to have a thread to discuss general specs fluids, ratios ect. Post up whatever you think is appropriate.

I think this trans is very underrated, most likely because of the park and nuetral revving seal failure issue. Considering these went on 5 liter v12s and big v8s in cars that weighed close to twice the heaviest go e30s I think they should be good behind the wonderfull m20.

kamotors had one with some work done to it. I think he swapped it out though, or was at least talking about it.

Kamotors and I both friend our autos at around 12psi of boost.
I lost reverse and the shifts were no longer crisp. Just sloppy.
It was fast but it was also terrible, it didnt last very long.
