E30 Rear end question... Need some advice

so im building my 318i with something a little odd in mind.
the M10 is gone along with the interior, seats, tranny... well just about everything, so as you imagine it weighs about 2 lbs

Im putting in a JDM 13b Turbo II motor in it, ill be messing around with the boost, fuel and other things to get the HP we are thinking about (roughly 400ish maybe a little more)

my question is I know the POS rearend thats there now is not guna last, but what do yall think i should go with, I would prefer something that bolts right in from another BMW but I deff want a LSD

so someone please guide me, learn me, school me whatever it is you wise BMW gods do

Any medium case diff, if in good condition, is going to last pretty long, its not an audi you know.

Not so fast. "Any" medium case will not work. E30 or E28 ones (with the output flanges swapped if it isn't a 528e) are the only ones that will work. You can swap 188mm ring/pinion combos from e36 diffs. into e30 cases though if you need more ratio options.

I know a local guy with a 13b swap E30 shit is insane. Other then that the E30 rear end is actaully very strong don't know where you get POS from it is more likely to brake a CV then a diff with that power.
