I have a connection to a 635csi close ratio dogleg tranny. Would that fit a 91' 318is?

could someone please explain what a "close ratio dogleg tranny" is, and why they are desireable to have?

Close ratio should be obvious. Dog leg refers to the shift pattern. 1st gear is down and to the left below reverse. then 2ndis where 3rd "should" be etc.
