Looks like a 4.10 LSD, verts came with a 3.64, 3.91 or a 4.10 after '86. Both open or limited slip.
Turn the input shaft and see if both outputs spin the same way. If so mark one of the 4 bolt tabs of the input(where the drive shaft mounts) with caulk. Then mark one of the outputs and turn the output(where the axel mounts) 360(one full marking turn). All the while counting how many times the input rotates. Should be 4 times and a little extra.

Verts never came with a 3.73, the iX and 325i did though.
naaaah! 325i verts did come with 3.73. i have owned 2 that came from the factory with that ratio. a manual and an auto. also seen countless others in the junk yard with 3.73's. as far as my experience is concerned, that is the only ratio that came in 325i cabrios.
i am not saying that you are wrong, but i am pretty much 100% sure that you have your info backwards above. 99% of all ix's came with 4.10 in the auto and 3.91 in the manual. (i have three of these-2 manuals and an auto). very rarely, an early euro awd car came with 3.64 in a manual and i heard a rumor somewhere that very early euro autos came with 3.73. never seen an example of this though.
i have never seen or heard of the 3.64 or 3.91 in anything here on this side of the pond except an ix. certainly never seen it in a cabrio.
you crazy man! 8)
the tag in the photo above is worthless. perhaps it was a dealer replacement diff? a normal e30 diff tag from the factory should look like this:
the "s" as we all know, stands for spheredifferential which means limited slip auf deutche
