    Engine swap, 4HP22 doesnt do anything

    So my engine swap went relatively good, and the first time I start the car to drive it, I cant engage any gear.. at all. No reverse or any of the drives work

    So I found this page - http://www.ashcroft-transmissions.co...&productId=221

    I added 3.5 quarts of fluid, and did a filter swap. THe transmission was very clean and I tried very hard to work clean. Regardless I am lost

    My fluid level reads good on the dipstick, so I am confused.

    I pushed the torque converter all the way in and rotated it around to engage all 3 gears or whatever. It bolted up to the flex plate fine

    Could I be missing anything?

              Also, the transmission barely slipped at all (only when stone cold) prior to the swap

                  it just sounds like the torque converter not being installed correctly

                      I would get the car up on jackstands with the car running and in drive and see if the wheels spin. If they spin slowly then I would lean towards a torque convertor problem. If they do not spin at all then it could be either a TC problem or something clogged up in the valve body (not allowing fluid to pressurize the proper clutch packs). That is my best guess having just completely disassembled one of these transmissions to learn the voodoo.

                          The torque converter span fairly freely when I put it on, is that not normal?

                          It seemed right, because the when I bolted it the flex plate the torque converter was the "right" distance away from the flex plate. The flex palte didnt bend when I installed it

                              Is the selector rod/cable hooked up? If it stays in park and won't engage any gears...

                                          So guys.. should the torque converter be able to spin easily when installed correctly? Thats how mine was, and I coulda swore I had it correctly on all 3 sets of teeth

                                              Added 1.25 gallons of fluid, and even after running through the gears it wont take anymore, or go anywhere or do anything.

                                              Hooray :(

                                              Need a new tranny I guess
