    Transmission Fluid Help

Hello, I Have a 1989 325i 5spd. I want to change my Fluids cause God knows when it was changed last. I found the 17mm Hex Drain Plug and Now Im not sure where I would go to Add the New Transmission Fluid or where it would be located. Is there a DipStick for the Transmission to add Fluid? I see the Engine Oil. I know that may sound stupid but I'm to the Euro Game. Can somebody help me ??

There are two dipsticks in the engine bay. Red for the engine oil and (usually) yellow (near the firewall) for the transmission fluid. You will fill the trans from the dipstick, find yourself a funnel that fits in there nicely.

There is no dipstick for a manual transmission. The fill port is on the right side of the transmission. When you go to change the fluid, remove the fill plug first. You don't want to drain the box and then discover that you can't get the fill plug out. Fill until fluid runs out of the fill port.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thank you both. I was reading up on how to do so but The Yellow Dipstick is only the Auto Transmission. I found the 17mm Hex to remove the Plug but Im not exactly sure where to look for the Fill Port. Any Diagram or Picture Help?

It should be another 17mm hex plug on the side of the transmission.

Ok Awesome I will look into this. Im Excited to change the Fluids. Now with the Drain plug near the DriveShaft(Left Side of the Transmission). Would the Plug to Insert the Fluid be on the Right Side of the Trans or more towards the Front? (Thank You once Again for assisting me with my Dilemma) :)

The drain plug is on the bottom of the transmission.

Wow Jim, you know I'm smarter than that!

Didn't read the OP thoroughly and assumed it was an automatic.
