5/86 325es linkage question

okay i started with plate shifter setup. bought all parts to refresh (knuckle, pad, both front plate mounts, rear support, and a Bimmerworld budget short shift kit)

after dismantling all found that cause of slop was that the front mounts were all wallowed out due to the bolts being to small

according to RealOem they should be M10 and instead were M8?

ok so I saw that the ears for the later model alum. shifter were available so i went to the local u-pick and got one then sent for the delrin bushings and the new shifter bushing and clip. after I installed noticed that my assembly was about 3/4 of an inch forward of the body opening? I had to drive like this for awhile and then i saw that there was a metal Bow mount available that might resolve? I got one for an M3 but when it arrived I found that although in theory it should align things it was too wide by a bit.

so now i need to know if there is a bow that will fit this setup? or is there an arm that is at least 10 inches from front eye to shifter ball. the 2 I have are 9 1/4 inches?

I have been biddy bopping around the web and havent found any specifics for carriers like the one for shift levers.
