Ok so I am doing a 5 speed swap in my 89 325is and I'm having trouble or being confused i guess by the clutch pedal. I have the assembly installed but when I push the pedal down it does NOT come back up. Now it does not have fluid to it yet but i figured the spring would make it come back up. When I look at the pivot points of the spring it looks like it actually holds the pedal down once it gets to a certain point. Is this the way it should be and once pressurized it will work ok?
need help with clutch pedal plz

There are no springs in the clutch, just the one that you Can attach to the pedal box.
If you don't have fluid in it or the spring in it it will not return, mine was the same way. -
I meant the spring in the pedal box does not make it return. I know there isn't a spring in the clutch master cyl.Comment

Still won't do it, to the best of my knowledge. Mine did not return until there was fluid, so it must be a combination of the spring and fluid.Comment
