Getrag 260 rebuild...impossible????

Hi all.

I was planning to get a Getrag 260 tranny rebuilt...I've just been told that this is actually impossible. Apparently 5th gear is press-fit so tight you can't disassemble the transmission...anyone heard this before? Anyone actually had a 260 rebuilts...or tried to???

As i told you on ecca. Its 10T force for pretty much all gears, you need a decent shop press to remove them.

Whoever told you that you cant dissaemble the trans didnt know what they were talking about, you can pull the thing appart, you just cant get the gear sets off the shafts without a press.
