    clutch & flywheel question

    hey all,
i'm a noob and not much of a mechanic so i appreciate the input here.

about how much should it cost to replace a clutch and flywheel in a late 80's e30? how many labor hours would the job take? what is a standard labor rate at a non-dealer garage? these parts will all be used, correct (there are no new ones being made 25+ years after the fact)?

    thanks all for your help.

"Late 80's" doesn't really help us narrow things down. What is the exact year and model?

Why is it you think the flywheel needs to be replaced?

Probably 400 or so for the parts, and upwards of 5-600 for labor. To do the clutch on these cars, the exhaust, heat shields, driveshaft and transmission must be removed. Also it is not a good idea to replace the clutch without having the flywheel resurfaced and the step redone, so you have to factor machine shop time into the price.
