    First gear grind when cold

So I get a first gear grind feeling when i put the car into first when its cold at a stop. Goes away after 5 min of driving/shifting and shifts butter smooth. If i put into 2nd, 3rd or any other gear before first, it wont have that grind and goes into first smooth. Any idea what it could be? First gear snychro going bad or perhaps master clutch/slave cylinder? Low or old transmission fluid? 115K miles on original clutch.
Had a smooth purchase transaction with me?

Worn syncros and/or too thick a fluid in the transmission come to mind. Replace the transmission fluid with Redline MTL or ATF 3 or 4 and see how it behaves.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
