Whats the "Diff"erence???????

i did a auto to 5spd swap on my 90 vert. ive kept the 4.10LSD in for a while but i have to get my trans replaced already and im looking for a better diff. Does anyone have any suggestions for a diff? Its going to be a daily driver and occasional street toy!

What do you mean a "better" diff? 4.10LSDs are very desirable

For a daily driver and occasional track toy, a 3.73 works well with a manual transmission and M20B25 engine. A 4.10 is a high for highway speeds.

I did the same as you on my '89 coupe. I left the 4.10 LSD in for a while but it got old revving on the highway. I think it would be fine if you don't do much highway/interstate driving, but BMW did a really good job mating the 3.73 gear to the 5 speed. It matches the characteristics and torque curve of the M20 very nicely.
