    Clutch hydraulics diagnosis

The clutch hydraulic system decided to leave the pedal on my '87 325is on the floor. I've changed out the slave cylinder (original was sorry looking) in hopes that would fix the problem. After several hours worth of bleeding I still have a problem.

Here are the symptoms: When I depress the pedal it feels right. If I release it quickly it comes back up as normal, but if I hold it down it for a couple seconds it'll stick.

That makes me think the system is bled properly, because I build pressure correctly. I'd guess there's either a leak or a bad seal in the master cylinder that's letting the pressure bleed off. I can't see any fluid leaks. Does it sound like I'm on the right track suspecting the master?

    Any advice is appreciated!

Pedal not springing back off the floor is always a bad master cylinder, assuming the system is properly bled.
