Sub'd....I'm looking into doing this soon with my stock e30 with M20B25. Has anyone here actually performed the swap? Other than trans/clutch/flwheel/crossmember. What else is needed? Anyone know a good source for used trans in SoCal?

The G260 will fit in a 2002 automatic tranny tunnel with some massaging. The manual tranny tunnel requires some surgery. Basing off of what you're saying no matter what tunnel the 2002 has, it will need some surgery.

Is the Zf6-speed bell housing more, or less, girthy than the stock getrag 260. and the same question in regards to the actual waffled body.

I'm trying to envision compatibility into a 2002/M20. Thanks.

New/Modern/common = less cost.
Efficiency is awesome

a 135/335i clutchset can also be used -i.e;

e30 with Original M20b25 engine + e46 330 zhp flywheel+e92 335i clutch+ e90 328 6 speed. Would be Ideal for a turbo M20. Daily driver ok in bay area traffic with M20 non-turbo

How about m20 strokers? same combo or lighter?

My 3rd gear syncros is gone again, they only seem to last me 60k's :oops:
The anoying rattle at idle i've got used to but should love to get a way from it.
