    Throw out bearing tube

I'm changing the clutch in my '91 318is. Do you normally replace the tube that the throw-out bearing rides on? Also, the threads of the bolts that hold the tube to the back of the tranny seem to be filled with wax. Is this a thread sealer or thread locker?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You only need to replace that part if it has been damaged. And I've never seen anything in the bolt holes or any sort of sealant on the threads of the bolts.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
