e36 M3 5 speed? Whats the run down?

I was looking at an e36 M3 5 speed transmission being sold locally and was wondering if this would be a good upgrade?

    I have a 90 325i with stock M20.

Whats the normal price on these?

if its a zf320 i think it bolts right up its a good trans quieter than a g260 and very durable
the g260 is an overdrive box 5 gear is .83 to 1 while the zf is a none overdrive so it has a 1to 1 fifth gear so you should lower your final drive to compensate

i do believe you need to modify the shifter and trans brace in some way though

Would 300 be a fair price?

There's no real reason to even do this unless your g260 needs to be replaced anyway.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

I am hoarder of sorts at times. I buy extra and parts that may come in handy. My transmission seems healthy at this time so I am not worried. If 300 was a good price I may pick it up.

            Not sure on miles.

Considering that you'll need a custom transmission brace, custom shifter linkage, and a different driveshaft it's really not worth the trouble. Go ahead and buy another 260 trans or have yours rebuilt.
