    318is lsd in 325?

Wondering if the m20 puts out to much torque for the 318is diff?
Found a good price but i have heard the smaller case diff will not handle the torque of the m20 motor?
    Thanks,
    Mitch

the M20 will rape the small case. If you drive carefully you will be ok, but hard shifts will eventually kill it.

Just a few high rpm clutch drops with decent tires will shatter the spider gear.

Hmm, what if i wasnt going to track the car? I drive enthusiastically around town, but nothing to serious.
Would you suggest it if it were only 100 bucks? Seems like a deal.

          Well ask yourself this.

For 100 bucks, if you blow the fucker up, what have you lost? Other then the time to install the thing.

Also its not just 100 bucks, I would not dare put a used differential in without replacing both output seals as well as gear oil (and the rear diff bushing/gasket if needed)

I just finished installed a 4.10LSD Medium Case in mine today, grand total was around 470 bucks after I bought everything to clean it up.

So do you want to spend around 400 - 600 bucks and do it RIGHT, or spend around 140 and hopefully have it last.

Do it right, do it once, do it halfass, do it twice..

That doesn't sound like a good deal. I bought my 325is LSD for $125.
James is right though. You should replace the seals and use some new Redline fluid, so whatever you pay for a diff, expect to pay a little more to freshen it up before you accually put it in.

Most of the guys with m20 swaps in thier 2002's are running small case diffs with no problems. 2002's are a bit lighter, but if you dont go around doing powershifts and burnouts I think you should be fine.
