    Driveline Removal problems

I am in the middle of of removing the driveline on my car and have run into some problems. One of the bolts that connect the output of the transmission to the guibo is completely rounded off by the previous owner/s. Some of the the nuts are also beat up a bit.

Does anybody have any ideas that would help me remove it? Are there any special sockets that would fit on the nuts, maybe thin walled sockets? If I absolutely have to, I could probably cut them out.

The hardware seems to be 16mm, which is somewhat uncommon. PO probably thought it was 17mm and destroyed them.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

They should be 17 mm. But just remove either the 3 bolts mounting the guibo to the shaft or the 3 mounting it to the output flange and it will come off. All 6 bolts don't need to come out

It turns out that both my 17 mm wrenches have widened a bit over time, which was causing the little bit of play. So, I will be going 17mm wrench shopping tomorrow and see what I can find that is closest to 658/1000, which is what i measured the nuts to be. I should be able to get the driveline removed from the guibo, but the PO stripped the bolts to the output flange. So, I'll probably have to cut it out due to all the cracks in the rubber. However, cutting 10.9 grade bolts is probably going to be a bitch.
