    Which trans model/parts for 325E** (5spd swap)

I have a 1986 325E (2.7L) in need of a 5spd swap. I Have heard mixed things about which trans. model will exactly fit my car. I have found one that is supposedly out of my exact model car, but i need to be 100% sure. What are the identifying marks and numbers in order to determine that this is the trans. that will work in my 325E (vs.) a trans out of a 325i

    **Model #?
**driveshaft length? any different from 325i 5spd swap?
**supporting components? any difference from 325i 5spd swap?

If this is answered specifically for the **325 E with the 2.7L*** please include the link

You can use the drive shaft from any manual transmission 325. The transmission can be from any 325e. The visual clue will be the two timing sensor holes in the bell housing. If the transmission has two ears sticking up on the rear of the transmission you can use the aluminum shifter. Otherwise you'll have to use the sheet metal shifter or get the M3 shifter mount and use the aluminum shifter.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
