sloppy shifter

    sloppy shifter

    well i picked up an 86' 325e yesterday coupe 5spd and the PO replaced the linkage and idk its just mad sloppy if you ask me are e30 just extremely sloppy or is there a way to fix this?

    Slop in the shifter is usually from worn shifter bushings. Replacing all the wear parts in the shifter would be the place to start.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

        the slop in the shifter is due to the plastic clips they use around the plastic shifter ball plus the shift linkage is only connected through one side of the shifter. T_____T like this, if you want to reduce the slop look at UUC's dssr and ssk, the slop bothers me as well but not enough to pay the big bucks on these.
