    need help

nobody responded in the transmission thread so im bringing it here if thats ok

my e30 wont go into reverse because the shifter keeps hitting the center console.

it seems the shift rod joint or (selector rod joint) is out of place causing it to be crooked i tried adjusting but it didnt work.

i ordered a new one with a O ring and the dowell pin for the shift joint.

is this the problem? i thought it was a simple fix

thats the piece that may be crooked (not my pic took off google)

From what I remember that piece in the pic kinda wobbles on the end of that rod.
Sounds like the shifter may need rebuilt and or the slecotr rod (brass in color) has been bent unhooked ext.
