    shift linkage adjustment?

recently did a 5 speed swap into my 1989 325iS, swapped in the getrag 260, starts up and runs fine, but this is the position of my shifter in neutral.

i've searched everywhere and i've found nothing on the adjustment of a shifter to this degree, how do i fix this?
in fourth gear it looks like it's in neutral. it's pretty much a whole 30 degrees off. in third gear it looks ridiculous.

Haha I had this same problem. Get under the car, remove the little clip, and flip the shifter 180 degrees. You'll see exactly what we are talking about when you're under the car.

am I going to have to remove that stupid pin and flip that whole lower bar around.. I might have to remove the shift linkage altogether just to have enough room to do that.

shit never mind I remember exactly the clip you're talking about. the little clip connecting the lower rod to the bottom of the shifter. that'll actually be really easy haha.
